Chris was invited to join my team in 2013, his task was to set-up and configure Engine Audit and Warranty Analysis Dept. Working in BBA’s new Powertrain Factory, situated in Shenyang, Northeast of China. The factory was designed to produce BMW engines for the local market. He became a key member of the Management Team, responsible for Project Management, Building, Commissioning and volume manufacture engines, from green field to start of production in 36 months. Key role was to ensure quality standards, his success in this role ensured the Plant achieved all our quality targets on time.
Chris was also responsible for the quality maturation of battery modules and pack assembly for NEV’s, plus Plant Project Lead for defect elimination in the production process chain. Chris’s knowledge and expertise was highly regarded by the local management, he was my official deputy for the Quality & Engineering Department. I believe that Chris’s experience of powertrain (ICE and HVB) quality and engineering has been a key contributing factor to the business. He has a high level of drive, enthusiasm and tenacity and a broad product knowledge.
